NEXL announced today that Stephen Revell, a leading international lawyer and a thought leader on business development, has joined NEXL as an advisor and investor.
Mr. Revell joins NEXL following his retirement from global law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he served for over 41 years; 33 as a partner in the US, Europe and Asia. Stephen was responsible for developing and running its StrongerTogether initiative of relationships with law firms all over the world which allowed the firm to deliver Freshfields’ services to clients in any market through the firms network of over 400 firms.
As a Freshfields lawyer, Mr. Revell specialized in equity securities offerings and M&A, especially those with cross-border elements, having worked on listings on over 15 different stock exchanges, practised in the United States, throughout Europe and in Asia and working on transactions in over 50 countries. He is truly international.
In retirement, Stephen has embarked on two new initiatives — first launching Making Change Happen, a law firm management consultancy to help law firms bring about change (and not just talk about it) and second, publishing the second edition of “Business Development: A Practical Handbook for Lawyers” which takes lawyers through the tools and skills needed to implement effective business development, including the importance of good communication.
