Bio

I started my Intellectual Property (IP) career in the US, working for a firm in Alexandria, Virginia. As a registered trademark attorney since 1992, I became a partner in the Parisian IP law firm BDSA, later renamed Bredema, where I led the Trademarks and Designs department. In 2008, I opened the Trademarks division in France of an international law firm. In 2012 I founded my own Intellectual Property practice which developed into ALATIS. My primary focus is on trademark, patent-design, copyright registration and enforcement. My practice covers a wide range of industries such as cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, luxury goods and consumer products, hotel management, entertainment and insurance services, software and aeronautics with a focus on international matters. I also have extensive experience with domain name acquisitions, customs seizures and licensing or transactional agreements involving IP rights. I trained at the CEIPI (Center for International Intellectual Property Studies) in Strasbourg and hold a Master's degree in Corporate Law. I am an active member of several professional organizations: Member of The Trademark Reporter® Committee at the INTA (International Trademark Association) – 2012-2019 Member of Association des praticiens du droit des marques (APRAM) Board Member of the European American Chamber of Commerce (EACC) – Paris, Cincinnati, New York Founding Director of the Intellectual Property and Innovation Committee of EACC Publications: Why Louboutin Matters: What Red Soles Teach Us About the Strategy of Trade Dress Protection – TMR Vol. 105, 2016 United States Annual Review (INTA) – Editorial Board 2012-2019 Annual Review of EU trademark Law (Inta) – Editorial Board depuis 2012

ALATIS brings together a network of professionals with unique legal, economical and technical skills as well as wide-reaching international experience to answer your needs and support you through the process of defending your Intellectual Property. Our ambition is to protect inventors, creators, artists and entrepreneurs from counterfeiting or any other form of illicit appropriation by others of their know-how and the results of their research or creations. We provide value to clients' industrial know-how, their patents and their trademarks, we seek to secure legal protection in order to preserve clients' competitve advantage and reap the benefits of their innovation.
These ambitions are often confronted with practical obstacles; indeed, the details of legal procedures and the validity criteria of Intellectual Property rights require fine analysis and subtle appreciation, in addition to existing in a resolutely international context.
